After getting torn to shreds by Daken (Wolverine's kid masquerading as him during Osborn's Dark Avengers stint), being resurrected as a "Frankenstein" type monster, and then being healed and de-aged by a magic stone, the Punisher was relaunched in a new book and with a new #1 issue written by Greg Rucka.
In short, the book has been great. It's gritty, with a dark, street-level tone, and somehow manages to integrate itself well with rest of the Marvel Universe. There's a crossover with Spider-man and Daredevil's books, but even that doesn't ruin the feel of the book, and even contributes to the overall plot told throughout the series.
I say it has been a great book because in a few months it will be canceled. News reports say there will be a Rucka-penned mini after that to wrap things up, but that's it.
So definitely check this run out, or wait a few months until it and the mini are done and enjoy it all at once. I'm sure it will get collected eventually in some form which will make it easier to do that.
